Execution requires a tight organization and well-advised delegation of tasks, skills and responsibilities.

FINAL WALK-THROUGH / COMMISSIONING

• Securing contractor takeover and defect reports

Legally, walk-through means ensuring that the building complies with specific criteria and is ready for occupancy. The contractor is entitled to final walk-through when the project has been completed as specified by the contract. After walk-through, a report is submitted detailing any possible defects. Final walk-through is followed up by formal commissioning of the building and building services. At this time the owner or the owner’s agent also receives all project documents including the latest plans, operating instructions, briefing protocols as well as clearly worded information and instructions, e.g., for tenants of the buildings.
